With Willis Edwards and Tom Townsley - and then Edwards and Ernie Hart - George Reed was a central figure in Leeds defence in the late 1920s and early 1930s. After nearly 7 years with the club, he joined Leeds colleague Harry Roberts down at Plymouth before moving to South London with Palace in 1934. He subsequently switched to the coaching side of the game with Palace, Clapton Orient and then returning to Home Park.
