Jabba's Comments

One of the top strikers at the highest level with Huddersfield in the 1920s as they dominated the English league, George Brown was picked up by Leeds at the age of 32 and proved he'd lost none of his goal-scoring ability by finishing as top scorer in his first season. He took the opportunity to move to Darlington as player-manager in October 1936, and took the usual route into pub management when he retired from the game. He died very young - aged just 44 in summer 1948.
