Jabba's Comments

An outstanding all-round athlete, Ken Willingham was making an impression with Worksop Town at the age of 16, but he really came to the fore when he moved to Huddersfield. He impressed all who saw him - including the England selectors who awarded him 12 caps in the seasons prior to World War 2, scoring on his debut against Finland. He spent less than 2 seasons with Leeds after the war, retiring to run a pub. He briefly returned to the game in 1952 when he had a spell as coach at Halifax.

Peter Shaw says: saw him play at Leeds Road, Huddersfield when I was a kid. Willingham Brown and Boot was the half back line.
