Jabba's Comments

Neil Edwards was a reserve keeper whose sole appearance for Leeds was in the 2-1 victory over Barnsley in the ZDS. He was released in 1991 and went on to enjoy a long spell at Stockport before moving on to Rochdale. He's been a bargain buy for Rochdale and has done much to maintain one of the best defensive records in the division, and his contribution was recognised with the award of the captain's armband during the 2000-01 season.

An early-season knee injury kept him out of much of the 2001-02 campaign, but he returned for the play-off games at the end of the season as Rochdale were edged out by Rushden. He's continued producing high-quality performances for Rochdale, with the highlight of 2002-03 being the saves he made in the 4th Round of the FA Cup as Rochdale claimed the scalp of Gary McAllister's Coventry before going out in a tight match at Wolves - with Edwards absent injured - in the following round.

Cheers to Rochdale's programme editor Mark Wilbraham for the photo.

Daniel Williams says: Neil edwards is my uncle and my to be godfather. I have been 54 of his matches and i am 11 1/4
