Bit-part midfielder in a Leeds side that was starting to fall apart
at the end of the 1970s. He won 2 caps while at Elland Road, but didn't
win a regular place and was probably grateful to get away from Elland
Road when he was sold in October 1981.
Apparently he shares his name with a boxer - who was world
bantamweight champion from 1980-84 and rated as the best
pound-for-pound fighter in the world at the time - and a film star who
played in numerous movies from the late 1940s to early 1960s. Which
might explain the next comment.
Maxine says: I belonged to his fan club in 1952. Wish I would have
saved everthing I had during those years. They would be priceless
now. It's difficult to find his albums. I was hoping the fan club
president from 1952 would contact me. Thank you.
Dave Bishop says: I went to Primary school with Jeff and in later
played football with him at senior school. We both represented West
London Boys. An interesting fact about Jeff is that when he gained one
of his two International caps for the Republic of Ireland against the
USA in 1979. Also playing in that team was Tony Grealish (Luton,Man
City, Brighton). Tony attended senior school (Although some years
older) with Jeff. So they went back a long way. Do you know what he is
doing now ??
katy says: jeff chandler is my dad if you want to no anything e

Martin Wright says: Yes, I saw Jeff play during his time at
Mansfield Town. I am trying to put a book together about former MTFC
players, where they went, what they did later etc. From above I can see
Jeffs playing career ended in 91 at Cardiff. Did he move into non
league or coaching etc. Any info you have after 91 would be
welcome.
katy says: jeff is now a consellor, for youth offenders in preston.
