Jabba's Comments

Picked up from the north-east leagues by Dick Ray, Cochrane was a high class winger who made many goals for his team-mates - Charlie Keetley, Billy Furness and Russell Wainscoat being the attacking force of the time. In his first couple of years with the club, Cochrane found himself sharing his position with the popular Tom Mitchell, but the number 11 shirt was his own by the time Leeds finally won promotion back to Division 1 in 1932. He died in the north-east in 1976.
