Jabba's Comments

A local lad, signed as an apprentice to Don Revie's side in 1964, Nigel Davey made just 23 appearances for Leeds in 10 years with the club. His big chance to get into the side came in 1972, when Terry Cooper broke his leg at Stoke. Unfortunately, Davey did exactly the same thing on the same day when playing for the reserves. When he recovered, he moved on to Rotherham, but didn't make it into the first team there.

Michael Foote says: No but I played against his brother Philip Davey. Philip played for Whitkirk Wanderers nr Leeds and in 1968 we played them in the Minor Cup we lost 3-2 aet and a cup shock was thus avoided.
