Re: Leeds United vs Tottenham Hotspur Memories
Yes I was there that day I remember running the gauntlet after coming out of 7 Sisters tube. Tottenham skinheads appeared from everywhere. No police cordons in those days. I remember Billy grabbed a brace. Happy days. PS You’re never intruding love your memories ;) Thank you. I would have gone by t...

Re: Leeds United vs Tottenham Hotspur Memories
Sorry for my intrusions on your site but I was at White Hart Lane for the 3-0 Leeds win in 1973 and, as I remember it, Leeds tore Spurs apart that day. Loved that yellow kit too. Going off at a tangent, yesterday I made a post on the ITFC Forum that I use talking about my memories of the ITFC title ...

Re: Hall of Fame - Vote for the 7th inductee
As an outsider in as much as my only real interest in LUFC spans the wonderful mid sixties to mid seventies period can I please just say that I hope to see Mick Jones on one of the future lists? A wonderful player in partnership with Allan Clarke and not always given the recognition that he deserved...

Re: Peter Lorimer RIP
Just discovered this sad news whilst I was on an ITFC Forum.
So sad, a great player from a great era.
I still have the double A-side single from 1972, "Lasher Lorimer what a shot...."

Re: Peter Lorimer & Mick Bates
All the best teams had Scottish players. Don Revie's Leeds had no less than seven Scots when they won the title in '74: Bremner, Eddie Gray; Frank Gray; Harvey; Jordan; Lorimer; McQueen. Yes my Ipswich Town team that won the title in 1961/62 under Alf Ramsey had three in Baxter, Moran and Leadbette...

Re: Peter Lorimer & Mick Bates
More bad and distressing news about players from that wonderful period. Best wishes to Peter and Mick and to their families.

Re: Gordon McQueen diagnosed with dementia
Yes I just saw that, very sad. I remember him from that 1973/74 side which was possibly the best of Don Revie's teams, they were a joy to watch. Regrettably I only usually post on here when there is bad news about someone from the mid 1960's to mid 1970's Leeds United that I followed, unless I happe...

Re: R.I.P. Big Jack
Mick McCarthy on Big Jack a very good read indeed. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/sep/23/mick-mccarthy-jack-charlton-illuminated-ireland-changed-lives It was a very good read-somebody posted the link on the ITFC Forum that I am on, because MM wrote it. Just as an aside there is still a h...

Re: Unsung Heroes
Another worthy of a mention from the Revie era that was here from 64 to 71, on the fringes but did a job when called is Rod Belfit. Rod actually played a major role in getting us to the final of the Inter Cities Fairs Cup in 1967. He scored a gat-trick in the Semi final 4-2 victory over Kilmarnock....

Re: How much do you disagree with my all time Leeds United X
I think David Harvey was the safer of the two keepers but Sprake was certainly capable of brilliance even if he mostly gets remembered (outside Leeds anyway) for the things that went wrong.NottinghamWhite wrote: I saw Sprake on many occasions for every error he made he made 20 world class saves.
