Hi friends,
I am going to be in Amsterdam between the 18/4-28/4 or even until 1/5 for work and a short vacation afterwards.
I'd love to meet some of you guys from the city to watch our match against crystal palace on the 25/4 and city on the 30/4 if im staying this long.
Are there any Amsterdam based supporters here?
I seem to recall a thread here of supporters from Amsterdam, but could be one timers. Reach out to me if you'd like to meet up

That's an interesting one...
Did we ever had a great player from the Netherlands?

Robert Molenaar
Willem Korsten (only played a handful of games for us)
Only ones I can recall (probably missed someone)
Of course currently on the books -
Pascal Struijk
Crysencio Summerville
Dani van den Heuvel

Surely struijk and summerville are dutch, but i can't see them attracting many supporters from Netherlands at the moment

I really liked Molenaar for us, no nonsense defender who could score goals. I've got a Leeds shirt with his name on the back
Hassenbaink was actually born in Suriname but at Leeds he became a Dutch international and kick started his career.
Although born in England (and living in Australia) I'm actually a Netherlands fan, you can thank the 1978 World Cup for that as England didn't qualify and although I had a soft spot for Scotland I cheered the Dutch all the way to the final. Johan Neeskens and Johnny Rep were my favourite players during that World Cup but they had so many great players (Johan Cruyff did not go to the World Cup).

Mark de Vries played for Leeds on loan, he was born in Suriname. Although he never played for the Netherlands he has spent alot of his football career in that country.

They all played at approximately same time frame. sounds like we did have a dutch connection. surprised no one in this forum is from that area...
you'd have to be a top Netherlands patriot to start support leeds for him...Selby White wrote:Not forgetting Jay-Roy Grot.

JFH was unreal for us and he had a great scoring record at Elland Road too. 34 goals in 69 games is good going.
