Kalimuendo rumours picking up pace, few tabloids today reporting close to a deal. Be very happy if he comes in.

Quotes from Radrizani interview about Raphinha deal with Barca.
For me, it was done [Raphinha to Chelsea], and when I have a deal my word is my word. I felt ashamed to go back to Todd Boehly and change my position.
Chelsea was his favourable option. But unfortunately, let’s say Barcelona influences convinced the player to wait, to wait, to wait until they could find a solution...'
Andrea Radrizzani has also confirmed Barcelona have not yet paid for Raphinha - and confirmed there will be a 'global case' if they don't pay by the deadline.

On the other hand, it would really pee me off. Spending money on a sixth striker when we don't have a single, proper and fit left back in the squad is pointless.blackbox2342 wrote: ↑07 Aug 2022, 05:43 Kalimuendo rumours picking up pace, few tabloids today reporting close to a deal. I totally agree about the need for a LB, Firpo is clearly unreliable.gilesdriveby wrote: ↑07 Aug 2022, 20:59Agreedsuperfox wrote: ↑07 Aug 2022, 17:57On the other hand, it would really pee me off. Bamford has injury worries and whilst I rate Gelhardt highly I think we lack depth for an out and out striker. Plus March will play 2 up top traditionally, if he does then it strengthens argument for Kalimuendo. Plus Kalimuendo can play on wing too.
Personally think we need experienced GK (looks to be imminent), striker and left back. If we get these three in would be very happy.

I'm firmly in the camp of us needing all three GK, LB and CF.
The only way this system is going to work is if we convert enough of the possession turnovers into goals, because we are going to get caught out and scored against, so we're going to have to score more. This is one of the unfortunate similarities between both Marcelo and Marsch's tactics and the premier league, both ship more goals on average so need to score more goals than average+1.

Joel Robles confirmed by the club.

Makes sense experienced cover for Meslier.
Re: 2022 - 2023 Transfer Rumours and Squad Discussions
I’m not so sure it does - he’s neither old (by GK standards) or particularly experienced (similar number of games to Meslier). Surely the remit here was a highly experienced pro, international caps etc, at the end of their career with an eye on becoming a coach. Nothing against Joel, he comes across as a decent bloke, I just don’t think it’s what we needed.
