Re: The blahblah of the forum
Just had a lager top & was charged 30p for the lemonade. I tried to explain that I didn’t get a full pint so why charge me for one ? The missing lager was made up with the lemonade but I had pay for both. Rip off Britain

Am in Ballycastle with one new wife and a dog. You could call it a pre-honeymoon. But I've now been to Ballycastle twice today. Took step daughters dog as well .... nightmare, constant barking in room, cafe, bar and jumping up on tables and chairs. Drove back home within 2 hours and left said loveable but untrained mutt home
Have just spent a lovely 4 hours at the beach, in a pub and a dog friendly eatery in glorious weather.

When you retire, you switch bosses - from the one that hired you, to the one that married you.

Congrats Davy, great news. Best wishes to you both

Re: The blahblah of the forum
Bit of an experience for us today.
Set off from home to do a few bits in town, and then off to visit parents. No worries in town, got back in the car and off we set for the Mother In Laws. Came down the slip road onto the M62, put the foot down, a shudder of the car, engine light comes on, absolutely zilch acceleration with cars flying past at god knows what speed.
After a minute or so, the car picked up again and went as normal, still with engine light on. Decision time, what do I do. As I had my disabled wife and dog in the car, I decided to press on, it’s simpy not practical to sit by the side of the motorway with those two. Anyway, limped on to the destination and finally landed safe and well.
Phoned Mercedes Breakdown - phenomenal service - arrived within 20 minutes. Several diagnostic checks later, the mechanic jumped in and we set off for a test drive. The same thing happened, I said we will just carry on to the roundabout and go back. “No, stop and turn round now FFS” .
At that point, he said, there is no way I can let you drive that home. The car will have to be towed away from the Mother In Laws and we will get you and the Mrs a taxi home. What about our dog I asked, that’s up to the taxi company. Well, there’s no way I’m leaving here without him pal, so what are we going to do. The solution was for him to provide me with a ‘rear escort’ home.
Hair arising to say the least, having a few beers tonight

Would have only wanted to go through that once BB.
Seriously though it's scary how we depend on cars just working properly. Glad you got sorted.
