Yor are even more of a pessimist than I am!

I have fretted about "R" since the season began. Recon another 2 points and we can relax and sit to watch who goes through the trapdoor. Millwall and Derby please :D

Well done SW again for following through with this thread. One correction on your top post is that we are actually 4 points ahead of last year at the same time. Nic pointed this out on another thread last evening - and our GD is better by 4.
That's correct WK we are indeed 4 pts better off, even better than I thought

Will start another thread after 30 games to keep it going.

Bookies, on the other hand, don’t deal in emotions like optimism and pessimism - just hard cold analysis.

This morning Paddy Power had us 1/12 to be promoted. We are now 1/16.

Apologies Davy!

I had checked the map only recently and hadn’t seen anyone listed for anywhere in Meath (as I thought) but now I do  Should have known you’d have been all over it!

They tend to get absorbed within the Dublin setup - a common problem for many of the Leinster crowd ;) :D

Ha, am tempted to leave it at that, but I couldn't find him myself earlier so just added him there now. Well spotted WK :D

Last season we got 18 points from games 21-30, so hopefully at least 18 this season. I would put us winning the Cardiff and Preston games too to give us 22 points from the games and on 65 points after 30 games. If we are there then I will be very happy.

It's a crucial 10 games. Take last season at the 20 game stage, top 6 was

Code: Select all

Pos	Team Pld	W	D	L	GF	GA	GD	Pts
1	Norwich City 20	12	4	4	35	22	13	40
2	Leeds United 20	11	6	3	33	17	16	39
3	West Br Albion 21	10	6	5	44	30	14	36
4	Middlesbrough 20	9	8	3	22	13	9	35
5	Nott Forest 20	8	10	2	32	21	11	34
6	Sheffield United	20	10	4	6	32	24	8	34
Ten games later top 3 was

Code: Select all

Pos	Team Pld	W	D	L	GF	GA	GD	Pts
1	Norwich City 30	16	9	5	57	39	18	57
2	Leeds United 30	17	6	7	50	34	16	57
3	Sheffield United	30	16	6	8	50	31	19	54
We got 18 points to blades 20. And then in the next 10 we got 19 to blades 23 and Norwich's 27

Code: Select all

Pos	Team	Pld	W	D	L	GF	GA	GD	Pts
1	Norwich City	40	25	9	6	82	48	34	84
2	Sheffield United	40	23	8	9	67	37	30	77
3	Leeds United	40	23	7	10	66	42	24	76
4	West Bromwich Albion	40	20	10	10	75	52	23	70
We really need to maintain a PPG above 2, another 43 points from the next 20 should do.

We keep grinding out wins & are definitely a better side than last year but...what a Xmas calendar we have!!

I'm only looking at the next 6 games but 4 of those are against teams in the top 8.
Then, of course, we have Arsenal away which will probably end up being a formality.

Bring it on! MOT!!
