Mr Russell wrote: 19 Jul 2022, 03:11 As you know I have been up Queensland way for the Leeds games meeting up with Sam (Deebo) and DLW.

But me and Sam were also up in Queensland for another sad reason.

Tony Hill (aka OzWhite) sadly passed away earlier this year and we visited one of his sons up Gympie way, what an amazing collection of Leeds memorabilia he collected and collated for his website.

I know some authors on here used his material for their books (myself & Sam included).

RIP Tony/OzWhite
Very sad news, I didn't know about it. We only 'met' by email but Tony was always a great help and that includes earlier this year.

RIP Tony, a good friend and ally to many.

Uwe Seeler, only just heard of his passing. Long serving striker, center forward in those days, for Hamburger SV & West Germany.
490 goals in 580 total career appearances, West German footballer of the year 1960, 1964, 1970.
Captained West Germany in 1966 World Cup final against England.
I would call him the German Bobby Charlton, even though their positions on the field were not exactly the same, so similar in character.
One of the most popular players in German football history. RIP UWE.

R.I.P. Uwe, great player in his day. I just remember the 66 World Cup final but remember more from a movie they made about the day think it was called GOAL .

He was brilliant in a role he played in Fawlty Towers.

Loved him in so much of his work, weirdly enough The Wombles probably resounds the most. He was genuinely brilliant in Dr Who as well. Seemed a very good chap, I don't remember hearing any negatives about him.
