Although early 70's was my first interest in music (still a Glam rocker at heart) I love the 60's especially all the British groups, Beatles, Stones, Kinks, Who, Small Faces, Animals, etc. Also love the music history of that period and enjoy documentaries about the era.NottinghamWhite wrote:Have had the Beatles on after all these years they’re still my favourites

If you like your blues rock, check out a band called Larkin Poe, two sisters who are absolutely brilliant. Peach is my go to album at the moment. It includes a brilliant cover of Ram Jams Black Betty.

I recorded a load of BBC 4 programmes last night about late 70's punk and indie bands. Also a documentary about Annie Nightingale. I watched a bit last night and I'll watch the rest tonight. Brilliant stuff.

It's hard to know what to play when you have so many records and CD's but the last few days I have had Radio Veronica on. It's a Dutch channel and they only play 60's, 70's and 80's and a lot of stuff that failed to chart in the UK - my sort of tackle! I make a note of all the ones I haven't got or don't know then track them down usually on Discogs, Ebay or Music Stack.
Recent discovered gems include:
Father's Name Was Dad - Fire
On The Ride - Continental Uptight Band
Something's Coming Along - Sceptres
One Night Stand - Magic Lanterns
Green Eyed Lady - Sugar Loaf
Call Me - Eddie Bishop
Tomorrow Today - Kippngton Lodge
Don't You Write Her Off - McGuinn Hillman and Clarke
Don't Let Me Down Again - Buckingham - Nicks
I Remember Lucy - Thunderboots
A mixture of Soul, Glam, Soft Rock and Pop. Tracks you would never hear on mainstream British radio which has a never ending playlist of same old same old.
