7th February 1972 a game in the 3rd round of the FA Cup against Mansfield Town so the only time these 11 players featured in the same team.
Sprake
Reaney
Cooper
Bremner
Charlton
Hunter
Lorimer
Clarke
Jones
Giles
Gray
Yet ask any Leeds fan of a certain vintage what was the great Revie side & the above is what they will tell you.
PS I was there that day

Must be the old grey cells I thought the above team were regulars and played together loads of times. It’s certainly the team I’d quote that’s for sure.

Re: The Revie Boys
Had it explained once and a few reasons as to why.
1. It could have only happened in 4 separate seasons when the 11 were at the club.
Allan Clarke joined in summer of 1969
Jack Charlton retired at end of 72/73 season.
2. Gary Sprake was replaced by David Harvey in 1972 hence virtually ruling out it happening in 72/73.
3. Long term injuries in particular to Terry Cooper & Paul Reaney (broken legs) plus Eddie Gray (Shoulder) and Mick Jones (elbow) among a few minor absences.
Knowing the facts it still feels like a team I watched many times.

A crazy fact that I was aware of, yet few will comprehend its a fact - You ask many non LUFC fans to name the Revie team and that is what they'd pick
Just reading the 100th Anniv book - 100 years of Leeds United by Daniel Chapman - Did not realise how many were missing for the Milan Cup Winners Cup Final

Well, I'll go to the foot of our stairs!
I'm of that 'certain vintage' and those 11 names are certainly the ones I would have automatically reeled off as epitomising the Revie era.

Re: The Revie Boys
We had a discussion on here about how many games that fabled side played together, the main person asking the questions was actually a Newcastle United fan who posted on here regularly. I was amazed at the answer been once but as Selby White explains very well certain factors didn’t make it possible. Another thing you’d always say that X1 with Madeley as sub well on this unique occasion the sub was Mick Bates.

And look at the side again, then see how many players we actually acquired via a transfer
