Liking what I've seen, and heard in reports, of Sonny Perkins so far. Anyone think he'll be making the step up to First Team squad soon?

Saw him for 1st time for u21s on Friday and he got two good goals. He's a big lad and would say a good football brain.
Started in the Aaronson role and switched more central (Rodrigo role) later in game.
Maybe not Prem ready yet but been picked against Barnsley maybe a possibility. Although think Summerville, Greenwood & Klich would start ahead of him in that one to give them game time. So possibly on the bench is most likely.

Christian Pulisic from Chelsea is a name that's popped up a few times lately.
Chelsea have said they won't lend him to "the Manchester side" (with some weird rumours of him being involved in a swap deal with Harry Maguire).
It looks like they want to sell him if anything.

Pulisic looks good to me and would be another American (USMNT) in the side. He could be a good fit for us. Any thoughts?

I feel like this would've been a more feasible option before signing Sinisterra and renewing Summerville's contract (and giving him number 10), now we're probably adequately stacked out wide.

Agree, there would be no logic in getting Pulisic. Especially as I read somewhere he wants to go for a side playing in the Champions League.

Go in for Paxten Aaronson now. Came through the same academy and will be equipped for high energy football. Imo, more talented with the ball. Contributing at the MLS level earlier as well.

I hope today's game gave the "we need a striker!" camp some food for thought.
Still, another left-back wouldn't hurt, but if the current squad stays, I won't be discouraged.

Yeah, I am relaxing about striker a bit, thank goodness Rodrigo is literally born again this season.

I would definitely like to see more depth at LB though. At the very least we should go get a Drameh/Gelhardt/Perkins/etc. level talent for the u21s who can push for the first team, we need specialists and there are none coming through. If the answer for now is Firpo and Struijk until its Firpo and Dallas I can understand why the club maybe doesn't want to go buy another first team player for this season but what about next year and the year after, or if Firpo doesn't actually come good? A young option pushing for minutes would be good to see.

What about Leo at LB as the youngster? He’s looked pretty solid when he’s come on.

I think Hjelde is exactly that kind of young talent that COP is asking for. The only question is whether he should play only CB or if he should play LB also. I think he has huge potential in both positions, but in 5 years time I expect him to be a CB.
