Location is at the Captain Mainwaring statue beside the Travelodge in Thetford.

2. This place isn't where it says it is. The fictional location for Dad's Army is Walmington-on-Sea but it was actually filmed in Thetford.

4, Theres a ford at a southern English river here. The ford over the river Thet hence the towns name.
