What exactly did Cook say to his team at lunch, before they started throwing their wicket's away.
A coach who failed before, a captain who is failing with bat and as a leader, senior pros flopping. Will England act to stop the rot - probably not.
Exactly! Root seemed to be batting out of character after lunch. We had plenty of time to get the runs needed; it was crazy to start throwing the bat around.
Have to say though, that it is debatable that our 'best' batsman would have been a lot of help in that situation, as he was also very capable of throwing his innings away, in times of need.
Cooke has been one of our most successful batsmen, we need him to just bat, but not be captain!

I doubt it too mate
Moore needs to resign & a new captain is required immediately
If they sent Root, Balance & Plunkett back to Yorks & we played England, Yorkshire would thrash them
You can't win international cricket matches when only half the team perform
Much, much better all round from England, just shows what they're capable of.
Now need to produce it more consistently.
But biggest concern will be potentially losing Anderson to a ban? That would be a huge loss!
Mind you as my old Dad used to say 'Catches win matches' so India, in many ways, only have themselves to blame, particularly dropping Cook ont first morning.

My dad used to say that aswell! Great performance by England, helped as you say by some shoddy fielding by India.
Terrific win for England, by an innings and some, today.
India in disarray and to take 9 wickets after tea, without Stuart Broad (ouch!!), was an amazing achievement!
As Mark Nicholas said to Alistair Cook, 2 weeks is a long time in sport, bearing in mind Cook and England were down and out, seemingly, after Lords.
Well played England!

England have surpassed themselves, in the way they have turned it around. Excellent bowling, batting and fielding!!
